"Come on, let’s enjoy..", "Let’s have fun..", "party tonight.." are few most common sentences that are uttered by almost everyone during several occasions and festivals in the name of "Celebration".
In the name of Celebration, people indulge in many activities such as music, dancing, intermingling of sexes, drinking and various other immoral activities labeling it as "Freedom" and to come out from those orthodox ideologies setting the limits according to their comfort and ease. Ignoring the further consequences just by saying, "It’s okay! If we do it once in a while, it’s not a big deal; we are not crossing any limits!" Forgetting the fact that "Every addiction initially starts occasionally" and "a small sin eventually turns into big crimes"!!
It might be okay for you, if you are "just dancing" with your friends, and it might be okay for the next generation if they are drinking and likewise the dissipation increases rapidly.
How would you feel if you see your kids coming home late night fully drunk, taking drugs and committing xyz crimes??? Now, you would definitely feel to impose rules for them! I ask, why?? Why the need of imposing your rules now?? After all it was the freedom given by you. If dancing was ok for you at that period of time then intermingling, drinking, drugs and fornication are okay for them now! Be comfortable with it.. Do not let that feeling of irritation disturb you anymore. Who are you to set the limits for them now?
Unfortunately, you have become outdated people now! So bear it. I can bet, you won’t even like if all this is done by any of your younger sibling, you will immediately complain about it to your parents, leave about your own kids!
Because you love them and can’t see them getting spoil, you know the addiction can damage the body, and make a person handicapped. But OUR Creator loves us more than anybody else in the world, and similarly even HE doesn’t want to see us in pain in this world and hereafter! After all we are HIS creations and HE better knows what rules should be applied and when, so it’s better to implement in the beginning itself. Our Creator has set rules for us which cuts the evil from the root itself.
Few people understand the commandments, rules and regulations set by the Creator and hence they do not support such celebrations and evil activities included in the name of celebration and mostly they are "Muslims" and commonly they are labeled as "orthodox Muslims". And mostly so called "open-minded" people claim that, "why Muslims are not open-minded and why they do not celebrate other's festivals..?" I ask, have you ever seen Non-Muslims fasting in the days of Ramadhan, celebrating Eid-Ul-Adha (according to Islamic Rulings), or celebrating Eid-Ul-Fitr?? So, why it is always Muslims being blamed every time and for everything and for not participating in others religious celebrations?? Did any time Muslims complained about others for not participating in their festivals?
And how can one even be a part of false celebration? Seeing that the things are not on the true track! How can one even wish a person who is going wrong? Many of the festivals abuse God Almighty.
Tell me, For instance, if a person is going to abuse his mother….. What will you do? Will you wish him, all the best?? Or congratulate him? Or will you encourage him and go with him and help him to abuse her? Or will you stop him?
Of course, if you are normal and sensible, then you are going to stop and counsel that person.
In the Same way, we Muslims understand that these things lead to evil and all the evil acts lead to hell-fire. We seriously cannot see our loved ones entering into hell! And therefore, we just try to stop them and prevent them from entering into the hell-fire! Therefore, we don’t take part in such celebrations and neither do we support them by even wishing!
And here arises the most common question that is, "why do you wish and celebrate Eid then??
So, let me start with Celebration again. Celebrate according to the dictionary is "to perform with appropriate rites."If anyone celebrates Eid like the celebrations of New Year parties, dance, music, drinking etc, I still say a Big NO to it and won’t ever be a part of such celebrations!
Unlike other festival celebrations, Eid is celebrated in the name of the Most HIGH, and is performed with appropriate rites, worshiping the Creator and thanking him for all the benefits and bonus he has given us. We enjoy by taking care of the environment, giving gifts to children, cooking healthy food and sweets, and helping poor so that even they can celebrate in the manner we do. It reminds us the whole year and remains as forever. It’s not just one-day celebration!
Does any other celebration include all these things? Of course, not! What kind of celebration is it where only riches can enjoy and poor are completely ignored, do not the poor have a heart to enjoy and celebrate? Whereas on the one hand, poor die on footpaths in state of hunger and on the other hand, tones of food get wasted in the celebrations!
Our Creator says “eat and drink but waste not by extravagance, certainly He likes not extravagant” [Al Quran 7:31]
Islam teaches humanity, justice, love and peace and it emphasizes on implementations of its teachings.Just wearing the t-shirts of "being-human" and ignoring the human beings dying on street is not what is needed!
Being-human is what our Creator commanded us to be and still my brothers and sisters are so inconsonant on their deen.
